Falling in Oregon
While traveling through the Pacific Northwest on our way to a wedding, we took a grand tour of the Columbia River Gorge and the waterfalls that punctuate the Gorge with water on its way to the Pacific Ocean. There are many falls in this small area, all quite accessible with moderate day hiking, and Multnomah Falls, a double fall with a pedestrian bridge between the levels, steals the show. At 620ft tall, the water turns to a shower of mist at the bottom, leading to awesome lens flares and rainbows in the right conditions.
Using an ND filter let me turn the water to silken threads, and this shot has always remained one of my favorites from our first time exploring the PNW.
